The NHS will be helped if doctors set the budget.They know how much they need. the decision should be taken away from politicians who have their own agendas when it comes to public expenditure.

I hope to keep the campaign focused on this one argument and to seek the public support of people such as MPs. The trick will be to start people thinking along these lines. People may have different views on how you do this but once they have started the discussion we are half way there.

Once this happens different political parties can come up with different means to the end and leave it to the public to make a choice. I think a radical approach is needed. For example if Doctors set an Insurance premium for healthcare with it paid for by the Exchequer we would suceed in producing an NHS with the right level of funding.  

Also if the house price mechanism is regulated by the state see www.housepricecontrol.org.uk then people working for the NHS would be doubly better off.  

I believe in looking at a problem afresh, the rational approach rather than in an incremental way, adding to the edges.

 We need leading commentators and politicans to put their name to this general idea. It is non-political. I intend to keep a tight handle on the site to avoid division and to allow as many people as possible to feel able to add their support.
